If ever there were an escape from the fast paced commercialized culture we live in, it is a Robert D. McFarland
watercolor. The distinctive aspect of McFarlands paintings is their simplicity--in subject matter and
composition. McFarland is drawn to scenes of vanishing America. His painting subjects are things that he sees
in the course of everyday life. He is attracted to the way light falls on a simple subject allowing one to
